Both Cameron Champ and Cameron Smith are in contention following two days of action at the Masters, and for neither man is that surprising. Both were already in fine form even before they arrived at Augusta National. Will it continue on Saturday, the proverbial “moving day” at every golf tournament? Xander Schauffele and Hideki Matsuyama are also among those chasing 36-hole leader Justin Rose—who led after 18 holes, as well.
Who is going low on Day 3? Let’s take a look at best four-leg, two-ball parlay for Saturday at the Masters.
Xander Schauffele (-110) over Hideki Matsuyama
Cameron Smith (-130) over Ryan Palmer
Cameron Champ (+110) over Si Woo Kim
Viktor Hovland (-170) over Stewart Cink
Parlay odds: +1027
Xander Schauffele (-110) over Hideki Matsuyama
Matsuyama has a decent seven top-10 finishes at major championships, but none of those have come since the end of 2017. During Matsuyama’s drought, Schauffele has six top-10 performances at majors (including four in the top five). When the pressure is on, as it is now with both guys within four shots of the lead, you have to like the American a lot more.
Cameron Smith (-130) over Ryan Palmer
Smith and Palmer played their way into contention on Friday, following up rounds of 74 with respective 68s. Following two days of identical scores, Smith should have the edge in round three. The Aussie’s last three results prior to this week were fourth, 11th, and 17th, and he was T2 at the 2020 Masters. Everything about Smith points to weekend success in Augusta.
Cameron Champ (+110) over Si Woo Kim
Kim infamously broke his putter in frustration on hole 15 during Friday’s round. Thus he finished out that hole using his five-wood on the green and did the same on the final three holes. Kim will have a real putter back in his bag on Saturday, but you still have to question his mental state. Champ comes with no such concerns. The Texas A&M product is unafraid of the big stage, having finished T10 at last year’s PGA Championship and T19 a few months later at the Masters.
Viktor Hovland (-170) over Stewart Cink
Hovland opened with a triple-bogey. Yes, he made a seven on his very first hole of the tournament. Since then, the 23-year-old Norwegian is 4-under. Whereas Hovland is just scratching the surface of his immense potential, Cink is well past his prime. Simply making the cut is a smashing success, but the 47-year-old probably won’t be able to keep it up on the weekend.
