We made it, FootClan! It’s Championship Week and if you made it into the finals, congratulations! Last week saw a host of fantasy irrelevant players dominate and some of our studs let us down. We also have injuries to key players like Cam Akers, Clyde Edwards-Helaire, and Stefon Diggs. Let’s dive into the waiver wire for Week 16 and get your team shored up for the championship.
Remember to listen to the Fantasy Footballers Week 16 Waiver Wire episode for Andy, Mike, and Jason’s take on these players. Also, check out some great companion pieces such as the Target Report, Snap Count Observations, and the Injury Report.

If you were scratching your head as to why the Bills chose to leave Josh Allen and Diggs in the game after a commanding lead against Denver on Saturday, you’re not alone. This was especially painful if you were the Diggs manager learning that he suffered a foot injury. Because, of course, he did. Early reports of the injury are “not worrisome”, but that still doesn’t mean he’s in clear. We won’t really know until this later this week. Either way, adding either Cole Beasley or Gabriel Davis to your squad isn’t a bad idea. Beasley is likely already rostered but Davis is available in 91% of leagues.
Davis has seen a minimum of four targets in the last four games and has scored a touchdown in three of those games. If Diggs is limited or can’t go this weekend, Davis should be an excellent spot start for a team that has become a high-powered offense.
Tyron Johnson is another widely available WR who has some upside potential if WRs Keenan Allen and Mike Williams continue to be hobbled in Week 16. He has exploded in the last two weeks with a combined 12 targets, nine receptions, 116 yards, and two touchdowns during that time. It is a speculative add since he may be relegated to the backseat of Allen and Williams are healthy.

Week 15 @LAR — 23/59/1 — 1 target for 1/6/0
My four favorite options out of this list are Salvon Ahmed, Le’Veon Bell, Tony Pollard, and Darrell Henderson. Ahmed torched New England with 122 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries. They play the Raiders this week who have allowed five touchdowns to running backs in the four weeks and his volume alone is worth an add.
With Edwards-Helaire suffering his injury in Week 15, Bell is now the new hot RB in Kansas City. His role as an RB1 isn’t guaranteed on every snap, but again, we’re talking about volume to go along with Bell’s pass-catching chops. His matchup against the Falcons isn’t ideal. Atlanta bleeds fantasy points to quarterbacks and wide receivers but has been stingy to the RB position.
Elliott’s status is still up in the air for Week 16. He was expected to play last week so his absence was a big surprise. Whether or not that means he will be 100% for this week is uncertain. Either way, Pollard has been the more explosive backs in recent weeks and positively shined against San Francisco in both the run and passing game. If Elliott is out or even limited, you may have a shot at desperation points with Pollard if you are desperate at the position.
Henderson may already be rostered, but he is worth a look if Akers can’t go. I don’t love it given Sean McVay’s propensity for the committee. If there is one thing I have learned to NOT count on, it’s the Rams’ backfield. That is especially true when they Seahawks when nearly anything goes. Earlier this year, Henderson logged a TD against Seattle but it was on only 7 carries for 48 yards.
TEs
Logan Thomas, Washington (Rostered: ESPN 53% / Yahoo 63%)

Austin Hooper, Browns (Rostered: ESPN 50% / Yahoo 48%)
Week 16: @NYJ
Week 15 @NYG — 6 targets for 5/41/1
Dan Arnold, Cardinals (Rostered: ESPN 1% / Yahoo 2%)

Week 15 vs PHI — 5 targets for 3/54/0
Jordan Akins, Texans (Rostered: ESPN 4% / Yahoo 4%)

Irv Smith Jr., Vikings (Rostered: ESPN 7% / Yahoo 20%)
Week 16: @NO (Friday)
Week 15 vs CHI — 4 targets for 3/37/0
Cole Kmet, Bears (Rostered: ESPN 14% / Yahoo 12%)
Week 16: @JAX
Week 15 @MIN — 2 targets for 2/12/0
Well, the tight end landscape is still a mess, so you’re not alone if you are in a slump at the position. Although he is likely rostered, Logan Thomas is my favorite waiver wire add at the position. He continues to produce for fantasy no matter who is in at quarterback. He saw a whopping 15 targets for 13 receptions and over 100 yards last week against Seattle.
Tyler Higbee is another option, but he has been boom or bust for the Rams while QB Jared Goff struggles with the football. However, the last time Higbee played Seattle he had his second-highest game in yards on six targets and three receptions.

Good luck in Week 16! Go bring home that championship!
