First, check to see if either T.Y. Hilton or Brandon Aiyuk are available. Between the two, I like Aiyuk a hair better, but both have the opportunity to be waiver wire league winners if you a shot at grabbing them.

My favorite add among all of these receivers is Broncos WR Tim Patrick. He doesn’t have the flashy name of Jerry Jeudy or K.J. Hamler, but Patrick has found a way to get it done every week (except for the Kendall Hinton QB start). He has scored double-digit fantasy points in four of his last six games. His matchup this week against Buffalo isn’t ideal, but that didn’t stop him from producing in other bad matchups. Week 16, however, is much better facing the tenth-worst defense against WRs in the Los Angeles Chargers.

I know that Houston’s WR Keke Coutee had the touchdown in their loss to the Bears, but don’t forget that Brandin Cooks was out with neck soreness and is expected to return in Week 15. If you are in deeper leagues, he could be worth a look. Another deeper league option is Lynn Bowden who capitalized on DeVante Parker‘s absence. If the Dolphins are without their main receivers and TE Mike Gesicki, he may be the de facto WR1.

Jaguars WR Keelan Cole is another interesting option now that QB Gardner Minshew is back under center, replacing Mike Glennon. D.J. Chark remains the big-play option but Minshew has targeted Cole five or more times when playing a full game. Four of Cole’s five touchdowns came from Minshew at QB. His matchups for Week 15 and 16 are pretty bad, so his ceiling is capped.

RBs

Probably Rostered (but worth checking)

Cam Akers, Rams (Rostered: ESPN 66% / Yahoo 75%)
Fantasy Playoffs: NYJ, @SEA
Week 14 vs NE — 29/171/0 — 3 targets for 2/23/0

J.D. McKissic, Washington (Rostered: ESPN 86% / Yahoo 70%)
Fantasy Playoffs: SEA, CAR
Week 14 @SF — 11/68/0 — 4 targets for 2/18/0

Main Waiver Wire Pickups

DeAndre Washington, Dolphins (Rostered: ESPN 55% / Yahoo x%)
Fantasy Playoffs: NE, @LV
Week 14 vs KC — 13/35/0 — 4 targets for 2/17/0

Salvon Ahmed, Dolphins (Rostered: ESPN 20% / Yahoo 16%)
Fantasy Playoffs: NE, @LV
Out since Week 11 with a shoulder injury

Trayveon Williams, Bengals (Rostered: ESPN 0% / Yahoo 0%)
Fantasy Playoffs: PIT, @HOU
Week 14 vs DAL — 12/49/0 — 3 targets for 3/14/0 — 1 fumble

Jeff Wilson, 49ers (Rostered: ESPN 8% / Yahoo 19%)
Fantasy Playoffs: @DAL, @ARI
Week 14 vs WAS — 11/31/1 — 3 targets for 1/13/0 — 1 fumble

Carlos Hyde, Seahawks (Rostered: ESPN 20% / Yahoo 27%)
Fantasy Playoffs: @WSH, LAR
Week 14 vs NYJ — 15/66/0

If either Cam Akers or J.D. McKissic is available, they would be at the top of my list for waiver priority. Akers has finally taken the step forward as the lead back (so far) and McKissic is the beneficiary of Antonio Gibson‘s turf toe.

Salvon Ahmed and Jeff Wilson are two options to consider if Akers and McKissic are unavailable. Ahmed has been absent with a lingering shoulder injury so he may not be available this week. However, if he is good to go, he is Miami’s lead back by a country mile. The Dolphins face the Raiders, fifth-worst against the run, in Week 16.

49ers RB Raheem Mostert had to have an MRI for his ankle injury, which is never a good sign. If he indeed can’t go this weekend, then Jeff Wilson is another option that could win you Week 15 against Dallas. I would not hesitate to add Wilson even if Mostert is considered healthy enough to play. Relevant running backs are hard to find this time of year and they face the Dallas Cowboys who struggle on defense, especially against the run.

TEs

Adam Shaheen, Dolphins (Rostered: ESPN 0% / Yahoo 0%)
Fantasy Playoffs: NE, @LV
Week 14 vs KC — 3 targets for 2/26/0

Irv Smith Jr., Vikings (Rostered: ESPN 4% / Yahoo 6%)
Fantasy Playoffs: CHI, @NO
Week 14 @TB — 4 targets for 4/63/1

Logan Thomas, Washington (Rostered: ESPN 43% / Yahoo 57%)
Fantasy Playoffs: SEA, CAR
Week 14 @SF — 7 targets for 6/43/0

Cole Kmet, Bears (Rostered: ESPN 4% / Yahoo 6%)
Fantasy Playoffs: @MIN, @JAX
Week 14 vs HOU — 7 targets for 4/41/0

Gesicki’s injury is a heartbreaker for fantasy. Luckily, and dare I say “surprisingly”, there may be an option for Week 15 and 16 if Gesicki is sidelined. Among all of the options, I like the Vikings Irv Smith and Washington’s Logan Thomas, with a slight lead toward Thomas. Smith is rostered in only 4% of ESPN leagues and 6% of Yahoo leagues, thanks in large part to missing several weeks. Upon his return in Week 14, Smith caught all four of his targets for 63 and a touchdown. Thomas continues to produce and was one touchdown away from a huge game at a position that is generally a wasteland.

If you are in deeper leagues or would like to capitalize on the fact that the Dolphins maybe without all of their receivers (again), you could consider Adam Shaheen. QB Tua Tagovailoa has been targeting the tight end position and he may benefit from the security the position brings to a rookie QB.

Don’t forget to listen to the Fantasy Footballers waiver wire episode to get a full breakdown of these players as well as Andy, Mike, and Jason’s QB and DST streaming options for Week 15.

Good luck in the semi-finals!
