Week 10 Waiver Wire
Welcome to my weekly waiver wire article for Week 10. It’s getting down to crunch time, so I am here to help you find those players that will give your fantasy team a boost, and hopefully to help you make the fantasy playoffs. These players I will be talking about, are owned in under 60% of Yahoo leagues. Also, feel free and reach out to me on Twitter @canadianclayFF and if you want to listen to more of my content you can also hear me on “The Fantasy Football From Up North” podcast.
KEY QB ON BYE
(Patrick Mahomes, Matt Ryan, Sam Darnold, Dallas’s QB)
QB Derek Carr- Las Vegas Raiders (42% Ownership)
Carr had a decent game on Sunday, he finished the day with 165 yards passing and 2 touchdowns. He has had a couple of mediocre games the last two weeks but should get back on track in Week 10 against the Denver Broncos. The Broncos just allowed Matt Ryan to throw for over 280 yards and 3 touchdowns. Carr should be a solid streamer against the Broncos who are also allowing over 20 FPPG.
QB Baker Mayfield- Cleveland Browns (34% Ownership)
Mayfield has not had the best season but he has thrown at least 2 touchdowns in six out of 8 games this year. Coming off the bye, the Browns draw the Houston Texans who are allowing over 20 FPPG to opposing quarterbacks and just allowed Rookie Jake Luton to throw for over 300 yards against them. Mayfield should put up solid numbers in this game that should turn into a shootout. (Currently on the Covid list but should be cleared by Wednesday)
QB Drew Lock- Denver Broncos (4% Ownership)
Lock was a great plug and play this past week against the Falcons, he threw for over 300 yards and 2 more touchdowns. On top of his passing stats, he also rushed for over 45 yards and was able to add a rushing touchdown. Lock has shown he can produce good fantasy stats in a plus match-up, so look for Lock to do that again in Week 10 against the Raiders. If you are needing a QB, grab him.
Other QB to Consider
Tua Tagovailoa- MIA (24%), Teddy Bridgewater (42%)
Kirk Cousins (31%)
KEY RB ON BYE
(Ezekiel Elliot, Clyde Edwards- Helaire, Le’Veon Bell, Todd Gurley, Frank Gore, La’Mical Perine)
RB Duke Johnson- Houston Texans (15% Ownership)
David Johnson left Sunday’s game with a concussion, so Duke took over as the lead back and put up over 70 scrimmage yards on 21 touches and scored. If DJ misses time, Duke would be in line for another 20+ touches against the Browns who are allowing over 100 yards on the ground and almost 20 Fpts to opposing RBs this year.
RB Kalen Ballage- Los Angeles Chargers (0% Ownership)
Ballage was promoted from the practice squad for this match-up against the Raiders and immediately stepped in for Justin Jackson after he left this game with a knee injury. He totaled almost 70 yards rushing and a score on 15 carries and added another 15 yards on two catches. Keep an eye on Jackson’s status for Week 10 and if he is expected to miss time, Ballage could be in line for a huge workload in what could be considered a “revenge game” against the Miami Dolphins.
RB J.D McKissic- Washington Football Team (24% Ownership)
McKissic had nine catches for 65 yards on 14 targets which led all pass catchers on Sunday and added another 17 yards on 3 carries. He has been very consistent in the passing game this year and has had at least 6 catches in four of the last five games. The WFT plays a Detroit Lions team in Week 10 that has allowed over 425 yards receiving to opposing RB this year. McKissic should continue to see plenty of targets moving forward.
Other RB to consider
Jordan Wilkins- IND (27%), Devonta Freeman (53%),
Ryan Nall (0%)
KEY WR ON BYE
(Julio Jones, Calvin Ridley (INJ), Amari Cooper, CeeDee Lamb, Michael Gallup, Jamison Crowder, Tyreek Hill, Sammy Watkins, Mecole Hardman, Demarcus Robinson)
WR Curtis Samuel- Carolina Panthers (29% Ownership)
Samuel blew up for 105 yards receiving and a touchdown on nine catches on Sunday and added another 13 yards on three carries. He has scored in three straight games and has four total touchdowns in that time. Samuel continues to be utilized heavily in this offense and should be considered a must-add this week even with a tough match-up against the Bucs next week.
WR Jalen Reagor- Philadelphia Eagles (24% Ownership)
Reagor scored his first touchdown of his career before the bye week in his first game back from his thumb injury. The Eagles are back from the bye and face the Giants in Week 10 that just allowed two 100-yard receivers last week to the WFT. The Eagles face the Giants, Browns, Seahawks, and Packers the next four weeks which are all beatable pass defenses.
WR Tim Patrick- Denver Broncos (21% Ownership)
In his first game back from injury, Patrick had four catches for 29 yards and had a touchdown on nine targets. He continues to show good chemistry with Drew Lock and has a very favorable match-up against the Raiders in Week 10. Patrick should be considered a solid flex play next week.
Other WR to consider
Darnell Mooney- CHI (13%), Jakobi Meyers- NE (12%)
Nelson Agholor- LV (25%)
Key TE on bye
(Travis Kelce, Hayden Hurst, Dalton Schultz, Chris Herndon)
TE Jimmy Graham- Chicago Bears (49% Ownership)
Graham caught all six of his targets on Sunday for 55 yards and a touchdown. He now has at least 5 catches for at least 30 yards in four of the last five games. Graham continues to see volume and should be considered an add this week especially if you are in need of a tight end.
TE Jordan Reed- San Francisco 49ers (24% Ownership)
Reed played a limited role on Thursday night in his first game back after coming off the IR. His snaps should increase in Week 10 against the Saints who allow the fourth-most fantasy points per game to TEs. The 49ers use the TE a lot, so Reed should be added and started every week.
Other TE to consider
Austin Hooper- CLE(39%), Trey Burton (23%)
Good luck in Week 10, and I’ll be back next week hunting for those Week 11 fantasy gems fantasy football friends!
