NFL Week 16 Sunday Night Football Preview: Can Packers slow down Derrick Henry?

Derrick Henry is all smiles after the Tennessee Titans beat the Baltimore Ravens.

Sunday Night Football Week 16 Matchup – Tennessee Titans vs. Green Bay Packers

December 27, 2020, 8:20 pm EDT, Lambeau Field, Green Bay, Wisconsin.

We’ve got a very interesting NFC vs. AFC matchup here as the Green Bay Packers host the Tennessee Titans. The Packers are looking to stay atop the NFC and start to wrap up the only bye in the conference, while the Titans are looking to win their final two games and hold off the Colts for the AFC South title.

The Titans’ offense has been on fire recently, but Aaron Rodgers has been playing at an MVP level all season. Will Derrick Henry continue to tear through defenses, or will Mike Pettine’s unit step up?

Sunday Night Football Betting Odds & Lines Preview

This game opened with the Packers as a four-point favorite at the beginning of the week, but that didn’t last long. All the four in the market was quickly gobbled up, and as of Saturday night it’s down to an even three. A lot of that move likely has to do with some sharp perception that the Packers are a bit overrated. It’s fair to point out that only one of their 11 wins this season has come against a team with a winning record. The Titans have looked good in back to back dominant wins, albeit against the Jaguars and Lions.

This total has ticked down a bit, although it’s still pretty high for a late December game in Lambeau. It opened around 55.5, and currently sits at 54 at most shops. It looks like there could be a little bit of snow early in this game, which is likely what has caused this move. If the weather were better this total likely would’ve been getting steamed up, since each of these teams have efficient offenses and lackluster defenses. Each side’s offense also matches up pretty well with what the other defense does poorly. Green Bay struggles to slow down power running games, while Tennessee’s secondary is very exploitable.
