NFL Picks November 29: Chiefs versus Buccaneers Headline Action

The home stretch of the NFL season is upon us and the teams jockey for playoff position. Several great games are in store for this weekend with the Chiefs and Buccaneers highlighting play.

Kansas City Chiefs versus Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Chiefs enter the game with a record of 9-1. Winners of their last five, they are “burning hot” on the Team Strength Oscillator and +30 on the Power Ranking Indicator. The Buccaneers are 7-3, “average up” and +18 on the Power Ranking Indicator. Kansas City is a 1.69 to 2.18 favorites with a line of -2.5 and an over/under of 51.5. It is best to avoid the over/under in this one according to the Totals Predictor. Both teams are showing great stability, consistently winning as favorites and losing as underdogs. That trend will continue with the Chiefs overtaking the Buccaneers and covering the spread.

New Orleans Saints versus Denver Broncos

The Saints enter on a seven-game winning streak and lead the NFC South with a record of 8-2. They are “burning hot” and +29 on the Power Ranking Indicator. Denver is coming off a win and are 4-6, third in the AFC West. They are “average” on the Team Strength Oscillator and +8 on the Power Ranking Indicator. New Orleans is a 1.41 to 2.475 favorite with a line of -5.5 and over/under of 44.5. The teams have been playing in game trending over the line according to the Totals Predictor, so betting “over” is a smart play.  There is little to suggest the Broncos can win this one. Go with the Saints to win and cover.

Arizona Cardinals versus New England Patriots

Arizona takes a 6-4 record into New England to take on the 4-6 Patriots. The Cardinals are a 1.72 to 2.13 favorites with a line of 2.5 and an over/under of 48.5. The Cardinals have a +26 to +15 advantage on the Power Ranking Indicator and “average” versus “ice cold down” on the Team Strength Oscillator. The Totals Predictor indicates both teams trending on the low side of the over/under, so betting the “under” is the best best. Neither team has been consistently performing according to their favorite/underdog status. I look for the Patriots to find a way to pull this one off at home, coming from behind late.

Carolina Panthers versus Minnesota Vikings

The Panthers enter with a 4-7 record, third in the NFC South, while the Vikings are 4-6 and third in the NFC North. Minnesota is a 1.51 to 2.61 favorite with a line of 4.5 and over/under of 50.5  The Vikings have a +13 to +5 edge on the Power Ranking Indicator and “average down” versus “dead up” on the Team Strength Oscillator.  The over/under is a bet to avoid in this one with the teams trending on opposite sides of the line. Take note that both teams are mediocre in terms of stability, so take that into consideration when examining the odds.  I see the Vikings bouncing back from their loss to the Cowboys, look for them to win and cover.

San Francisco 49ers versus Los Angeles Rams

The 49ers won the first meeting between the teams this season by the score of 24-16. San Francisco is last in the division at 4-6, while the Rams are second at 6-3. Los Angeles is a 1.37 to 3.175 favorites with a line of 6.5 and over/under of 46.5.  The Totals Predictor indicates betting the over/under on this game is one to avoid. Los Angeles has a +16 to +11 advantage on the Power Ranking Indicator and “average up” versus “ice cold down” on the Team Strength Oscillator. They have also played more consistently according to their favorite/underdog status.  I like the Rams to win, perhaps by double digits.
