The battle of Tigers was highlighted by Auburn’s opportunistic defense taking advantage of LSU mistakes creating points off of turnovers.
After a scoreless first quarter the Auburn offense came alive scoring 21 unanswered points in the second quarter alone. Scoring on a short field set up by an INT, a scoop and score and then capping the quarter off with an 8 play 99 yard drive. LSU was able to go 32 yards in the half’s final 40 seconds to kick a field goal before the break to cut into the lead 21-3.
Then in the second half it was more of the same for the Auburn Tigers. They got the second half opening kick off and drove it 75 yards down the throat of LSU to strengthen their lead. On the first play of the half for LSU, TJ Finley threw an INT and Auburn was able to get points off of the turnover.
Auburn dominated in the second half scoring on all but 2 drives. They would take home the SEC win 48-11 over LSU.
